Job Description


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Catering Team Member to join our team at Sandfield Day Nursery in Oxford. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals for our children, ensuring that we maintain our excellent food hygiene rating.


You will work closely with our Cook to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety guidelines and protocols. You will also be responsible for engaging in domestic duties within the nursery that are typically related to mealtimes, such as cleaning the milk kitchen and re-stocking hand towels.



Required Skills and Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Experience of preparing raw-ingredients in-line with a set menu, in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Champion healthy eating and enjoy working in a busy, team-orientated environment.
  • Ability to work in partnership with the cook to maintain a clean, safe and tidy kitchen, effectively implementing appropriate COSHH and allergy management protocols.
  • Confidence and competence to successfully resume responsibility for all food preparation and cooking in the absence of the nursery cook/chef.
  • Willingness to engage in domestic duties within the nursery that are typically related to the children's mealtimes.
