Job Description

Optimum Recruit Limited is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's existing team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling various equipment assets, including pumps, turbines, valves, gearboxes, conveyors, and coolers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair rotating equipment, such as large turbines, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, including reporting, defect repairs, and routine maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical equipment associated with heavy engineering sectors.
  • Work independently to identify and resolve faults and concerns on mechanical systems.
  • Assist and lead planned projects and outages as directed by peers.
Requirements:
  • Full driving license, preferably clean.
  • Fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning experience.
  • Flexible and positive outlook.
  • Flexibility to work away from home when needed.
  • Relevant knowledge, training, and experience within heavy engineering sectors.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on maintaining and repairing complex mechanical equipment. The role will involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and in areas with high noise levels.
