Role Overview
GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH needs, promoting their emotional and social well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, educational psychologists, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive relationships and behaviors.
- Support pupils in developing life skills, such as self-regulation, self-awareness, and social skills.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent support for pupils.
Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs or a related field.
- Strong understanding of child development, behavior management, and emotional intelligence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- DBS clearance and up-to-date first aid training.
