Our Data Protection team works closely with various service lines within KPMG to deliver comprehensive data protection solutions to our clients. We are a fast-growing team that is passionate about helping our clients navigate the complex world of data protection.
About the Job:
As a Manager - Data Protection - Lawyer, you will be responsible for assisting clients in developing data protection strategies, advising on cross-border data transfers, and supporting clients with data protection elements of their transformation programs. You will also be expected to advise on data ethics and liaise with the ICO on behalf of clients who have received complaints from data subjects or the ICO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients in developing data protection strategies and advising on cross-border data transfers
- Support clients with data protection elements of their transformation programs, including group restructuring, outsourcing, and large-scale technology programs
- Advise on data ethics and liaise with the ICO on behalf of clients who have received complaints from data subjects or the ICO
Requirements:
- 4+ years of PQE in data protection/commercial law
- Experience in advising clients on complex data protection compliance issues, including GDPR/DPA compliance, data subject rights requests, and freedom of information requests
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive data protection solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess problems from multiple angles
