Specialty Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Job Summary

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is recruiting for an experienced Specialty Doctor to join the Wakefield CAMHS team.

This is a great opportunity for a Psychiatrist to work in a friendly, supportive, and experienced team, providing high-quality care to patients.

The postholder will work in an experienced team of professionals, ensuring that all patients receive the care they need, and will be an integral part of the Psychiatry pathway.

Main Duties of the Job

The postholder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to a multi-professional team, liaising with a wide variety of agencies, and delivering undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.

The team comprises a multitude of experienced professionals who are looking forward to welcoming a new Psychiatrist.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post.

Experience

• Spent a minimum of four years (full-time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience, of which at least 2 years in psychiatry.
• At least 6 months' experience in CAMHS psychiatry.
• Excellent knowledge in specialty.
• Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
• Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
• Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
• Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
• Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
• Participate in continuous professional development.
• Participate in research or service evaluation.
• Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.
• Has actively participated in clinical audit.
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence and leadership skills.
