Food Preparation Assistant

Purpose of the Role
To assist in organizing and controlling the efficient and economic production of quality food within a set budget, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals.
- Participate in staff and client meetings as required.
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
- Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
- Clean up after meals and ensure all crockery and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately.
- Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a client, colleague, self, or another.
- Understand and implement the Home's Health and Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures.
- Report to the Home Manager or Handyperson any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment, or any potential hazard.
- Promote safe working practice in the Home.
- Ensure confidentiality of information gained in the course of duty.
- Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.
- Maintain the security of the Home at all times.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within defined timescales.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well-maintained.
- Perform other tasks reasonably assigned to you.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- A Level 2 Food/Hygiene Certificate
- Good communication skills
- A team player
- Practical experience in working within a commercial kitchen environment
Working Pattern
This position is available for 17 hours per week, including alternate weekends.
Salary
An estimated salary of £25,000-£30,000 per annum based on the location and industry standards.
