Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Respite Service team at Wiltshire Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing short breaks away from the family home, supporting customers to participate in meaningful community-focused activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to customers, enabling them to maximize their independence and participate in community activities.
- Work collaboratively with families, paid and unpaid carers to ensure their needs are met and they are involved in the support process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, families, and carers to ensure a person-centered approach.
- Participate in regular training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting customers with complex needs.
- Contribute to a culture that promotes trust, respect, and empowerment, ensuring customers are at the heart of everything we do.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a care or support role, preferably in a community-focused setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, families, and carers.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of customers.
- Commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of vulnerable adults and children.
