Electrical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Nidec Power.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, experience in maintaining rotating electrical machines, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical operations for our customers, managing projects and key tasks within the service department, and ensuring compliance with legal Health and Safety Regulations and Nidec policy.
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of equipment for our customers, and resolution of any electrical or mechanical breakdowns
- On-site investigations following a breakdown to identify the root cause of the failure
- Strict compliance with legal Health and Safety Regulations and Nidec policy
- On-call assistance for customers via telephone
- Management of own work-related administration, such as on-site reports and travel arrangements
Project Leader Responsibilities:
- Communicating with the sales department to resolve customer issues
- Co-ordinating with the sales administration team to ensure internal orders of parts for repair are processed correctly
- Ensuring that projects are carried out in line with our Health and Safety policies, taking into account geographical risk and customer feedback
- Liaising with the sales and sales administration team to generate further sales opportunities
Travel Requirements:
This role requires frequent travel within the UK and Ireland.
Qualifications & Experience:
- ONC or BTEC in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering
- Experience in maintaining rotating electrical machines
- Strong understanding of electrotechnical principles
- Strong understanding of the operation and maintenance of electric motors and alternators
- Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Results-oriented, and focused on objectives
- Ability to provide excellent service to customers whilst navigating potentially difficult situations
