About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our community mental health team in Tameside. As a senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting older adults with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote independence and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions and support individuals through their recovery pathway.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including group and individual interventions, to equip individuals with the skills and confidence to manage their mental health.
  • Work closely with the discharge social workers to ensure seamless transitions and support individuals in their recovery journey.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff and students, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with HCPC.
  • Substantial post-registration experience working in mental health services, with a focus on older adults and complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a caseload, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and outcomes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
