Purpose of the role

This is a part-time position within the Strategic Growth team, focusing on housing, homelessness, and domestic abuse. The successful candidate will lead and support projects that develop services, strategies, policies, and procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver housing and homeless strategies and action plans, including those that prevent homelessness.
  • Support the team in delivering and managing all forms of accommodation, including temporary accommodation, supported accommodation, and private rented sector accommodation.
  • Collect, verify, and submit relevant data to comply with government and local requirements, as well as monitoring information and generating reports to inform service delivery and performance.
  • Undertake Housing Needs Surveys to inform developers, planning colleagues, and Registered Providers on needs within the district.
  • Provide good customer service, address needs and requirements, and maximise income while achieving greater service efficiencies.

Requirements

  • A good standard of education, preferably to degree level, and a minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, and A Levels or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years related work experience working with customers, landlords, Registered Providers, or similar.
  • Membership of CIH is desirable.
  • IT literacy to a high standard, including the use of email, spreadsheets, databases, and social media.

Working conditions

  • This is a part-time position of 18.5 hours a week, with an annual salary of £32,564 – £35,348 pro rata.
  • Appointment is usually at the bottom of the salary band with annual increments until the top of the scale is reached.
  • The ability to undertake the full range of duties for the contracted hours will be required.
  • The need to be able to meet the physical demands of the job in accessing and inspecting properties.
