Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Materials Team Leader to oversee the daily activities of our Materials department, ensuring efficient material flow and optimal stock management.

About the Role

This is a key position in our operation, requiring strong leadership and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex stock levels, optimising MRP systems, and delivering best practice processes to reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a small dedicated team, providing guidance and support.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations, including stock control, material booking, and equipment operation.
  • Optimise inventory levels, ensure accurate records, and coordinate with suppliers for orders and delivery lead times.
  • Work with internal teams, including supply chain, purchasing, and production, to ensure stock levels are kept at optimal levels.
  • Be responsible for updating the MRP system to fully optimise its use and reduce the chances of human error in the stock flow process.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing complex stock levels in fast-paced manufacturing environments, as well as knowledge of using and optimising MRP systems. A salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum is expected for this role.
