About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Employment Specialist to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with severe mental health issues to gain, sustain, and retain paid employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a caseload of up to 20 individuals with significant mental health issues who are unemployed or struggling in the workplace.
  • Work directly with clients, clinicians, consultant psychiatrists, employers, and Job Centre Plus to enable clients to gain, sustain, and retain paid employment.
  • Develop and implement personalized employment plans to support clients in achieving their employment goals.
  • Build positive relationships with employers to open up job opportunities and promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to provide comprehensive support to clients and ensure seamless delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience of working with and supporting individuals with mental health issues (or other disadvantaged groups) into employment.
  • Excellent motivational, communication, and listening skills to build rapport and trust with clients and employers.
  • High level of organization and perseverance to manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Able to travel across three localities in Berkshire West.
