Salaried General Practitioner in Child and Adolescent Mental Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) team in Horsham. As a GP with an Extended Role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care to children and young people with mental health difficulties and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with nurses, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive care. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and working closely with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in General Practice, with experience working with children and young people in secondary care and hospital settings. You will also have excellent clinical skills, using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. Experience of working with psychological therapies, such as CBT and systemic therapy, is also essential.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people with mental health difficulties
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, working closely with colleagues and families
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based care, prioritizing the needs of our patients
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and effective communication
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCGP or equivalent
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
Eligibility
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment
  • Eligible, or within 6 months of being eligible, for inclusion on the GMC General Practitioner Register
  • On the National GP Performers list
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organizational skills
