CNC Machinist

We are currently recruiting for a skilled professional to work on site at our facility. The role will involve CNC turning of aerospace equipment, in accordance with manufacturing instructions, specifications, and customer/regulator requirements, working within a team environment to meet delivery requirements and reporting directly to the team lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Centre lathe turning will entail manufacturing of parts from start to finish, to aerospace specifications;
  • Operator control of quality;
  • To achieve on-time delivery by ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard;
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, following the process layout and documentation procedures;
  • Working effectively in a lean environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering apprenticeship (desirable but not essential);
  • Knowledge of machining, specifically CNC and manual turning or relative machining experience;
  • Knowledge of hand measuring equipment, such as vernier, micrometer, thread, and plug gauges;
  • High standard of health and safety;
  • Adhering to company processes and procedures;
  • Working in a customer-focused environment and achieving targets;
  • Working with designers and engineers.

Attributes and Skills:

  • The position requires the applicant to have an understanding of aerospace practice and the significance of the safety-critical work undertaken;
  • PC literate;
  • The applicant should be able to display essential skills in the adherence to health and safety standards at all times, teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to use initiative;
  • Continuous improvement;
  • Any further training requirements will be provided.

Shifts Available:

Days:

  • Monday to Thursday (07:00 to 15:30) and Friday (07:00 to 12:00)

Days/Late Swing Shift:

  • Days - Monday to Thursday (07:00 to 15:30) and Friday (07:00 to 13:00)
  • Lates - Monday to Thursday (15:30 to 00:00)

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Full BPSS* screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of legal right to work, criminal records check, i.e. UK DBS, and drugs screening.

Additional Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to pass all appropriate background and security checks.
