Job Title: Autism Support Worker

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team in Romsey. As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including those within the Autism Unit.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster independence, confidence, and self-esteem in students with SEN through personalized support and encouragement.
  • Help students engage with the curriculum and participate in classroom activities to the best of their abilities.
  • Support students in developing social skills and building positive relationships with peers.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience working with SEN, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education, SEN support, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
