About the Role
The Maintenance Engineer will report to the Maintenance Team Leader and be responsible for providing maintenance cover to the production departments, plant machinery, and site facilities through effective reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
Main Responsibilities
- Planned preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Reactive multi-skilled maintenance to address equipment breakdowns
- Maintaining machinery to OEM specifications
- Identifying parts requiring further attention and recording work carried out
- Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
- Working within ATEX regulations
- Using problem-solving techniques to deal with breakdowns
- Electrical fault finding, testing, and repairs
- Prioritizing breakdowns and engineer out recurring issues
- Supervising contractors working on reactive maintenance
- Fitting and working on bearings and rollers
- Participating in projects to design, trial, and implement improvements highlighted by the Management Team
- Leading projects to design, trial, and implement improvements, working within a defined budget
- Continuous improvement activities
About You
To be considered for the role, you must possess demonstrable experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineering professional in a manufacturing setting. You will be time-served as a minimum in an appropriate discipline and possess a dynamic and able to work without supervision attitude.
Key Selection Criteria
- 18th edition wiring certification
- Working knowledge of AC/DC motors and drives (e.g., Bosch Rexroth, Lenze, Eurotherm, etc.)
- Working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Computer literacy, including use of Office tools
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving
- Understanding of machinery and manufacturing processes
- Man management
- Good time-keeping
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- Meet deadlines and targets
- Ability to build strong working relationships with relevant persons
- Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Operate MEWP
