Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP The Mount. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues and contribute to creating a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver high-quality maintenance services in a challenging prison environment
  • To work collaboratively with experienced colleagues from various trades and backgrounds
  • To contribute to the smooth operation of the facility, ensuring safety and security for all stakeholders
  • To maintain and repair commercial or industrial heating and water systems, adhering to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements

Requirements:

  • At least two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety requirements and legislation
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
  • Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating), and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
