Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Mobility Therapist to join our Posture and Mobility Services team in Greater Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs and prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To use your clinical skills to assess the mobility needs of service users and prescribe appropriate equipment.
  • To provide leadership for the local clinical team and manage referrals and team caseload.
  • To supervise junior staff and provide clinical guidance to non-clinical colleagues in the service.
  • To work with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver high-quality service performance with measured outcomes.
  • To liaise with service user groups and other stakeholders to facilitate joint working and identify opportunities for improving service user outcomes.
  • To support internal and external training programmes, including apprenticeships and student placements.

About You

  • You must be registered with the HCPC as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist.
  • You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills combined with the ability to manage a varied workload are essential.
  • You will be confident in the use of digital systems and software for record-keeping and analysis of service performance.
  • A full current UK driving licence for a manual transmission vehicle is required, and you must be willing to drive vehicles as necessary.
