Roxel UK is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join its Operations Team at Summerfield, Kidderminster. As a key member of the production engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in driving manufacturing excellence, improving processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with experience in lean manufacturing tools and techniques. You will be responsible for providing technical support, guidance, and training to others, as well as creating standard operating procedures and process control documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient manufacturing methods and processes to meet safety, quality, and productivity requirements.
- Design and implement machine/tooling modifications to optimize output and improve product quality.
- Deliver capital projects from concept to introduction, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Address production bottlenecks and issues, implementing corrective actions to maintain production flow.
- Design and develop basic jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and tooling as necessary.
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Create and maintain accurate records and documentation, including standard operating procedures and process control documents.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to verify the effectiveness of quality control systems and implement improvements as needed.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- HNC or HND qualification or higher in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent demonstrated practical experience.
- Previous proven experience in a production manufacturing environment.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in lean manufacturing tools and techniques, including value stream mapping, 6S, KanBan, Kaizen, MRL, PFMEA, and SPC.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering in an ISO 9001 environment.
- Experience in project delivery and problem-solving.
- IT literacy with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
