Job Title: Junior HSE Coordinator

Lighthouse Green Fuels, a part of Alfanar Energy UK, is embarking on a pioneering Advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Europe, backed by a £1.5 billion investment package. Our Teesside site is currently undergoing a power plant revival, and this role will focus on ensuring the safe operation of this facility as it comes back online.

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior HSE Coordinator to join our team on a staff basis at our Teesside site. This is a key role that will provide comprehensive support to our site HSE Manager, offering an exciting opportunity for someone to develop their knowledge and skills in safety legislation, policies, and practices, and progress towards becoming an EHS Advisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with maintaining records, conducting inspections, and monitoring activities to verify compliance with company SHEQ processes and procedures.
  • Manage the company's MS SharePoint database for all company policies and procedures.
  • Support the production of risk assessments and development of safe systems of work.
  • Record follow-up actions from internal/external audits, accident investigations, and compliance audits.
  • Support the EHS Manager in conducting incident investigations and reports.
  • Support the EHS function with health and safety training.
  • Implement company QHSE policies, plans, and initiatives.
  • Compile and present HSE data, as well as submit corporate weekly and monthly Health and Safety KPI reports.
  • Perform routine workplace inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in HSE, including industrial site experience.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification, with a NEBOSH General Certificate either held or in progress.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Platforms (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • A driven personality with ambition to further a career in Health & Safety Management.
