Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Optical Supervisor to take on a leadership role and develop their career with Health Care Personnel. As Optical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the practice, motivating and supporting staff, and driving business performance.

  • To ensure practice efficiency and compliance with organisational procedures
  • To ensure total customer satisfaction with products and services
  • To be an effective leader, motivating, supporting, training and developing staff
  • To realise the full potential of the practice with regard to patient numbers and sales targets
  • To achieve maximum profitability
  • To be responsible for quality control in all areas
  • To manage stock control
  • To maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the practice
  • To be responsible for health and safety standards across the practice
  • To work with the Marketing Department to maximise marketing effectiveness at a local level
  • To drive cost efficiencies
  • Dispensing spectacles to prescriptions
Personal Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience

We are looking for a strong leader with a proven track record of developing and supporting staff. The ideal candidate will have previous management experience and a background in customer service. They will also have experience of driving business performance and excellent communication skills.

  • Previous management experience would be desirable, or a proven track record of developing and supporting staff
  • Strong background in customer service
  • Experience of driving business performance such as sales, customer satisfaction and cost efficiencies
  • Strong leader, able to motivate and engage with staff at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to put the customer first and act in a professional manner in all situations, able to act with tact and discretion
