We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join our team at Axon Moore in Bolton. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a vital role in managing our finances and providing excellent support to our business.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing our AP and AR inboxes, ensuring that all queries are responded to promptly and efficiently. You will also be responsible for managing our creditor and debtor ledgers, monitoring movements and trends, and performing monthly reconciliations.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will also need to be proficient in IT and MS Excel, and have a good understanding of accounting principles and practices.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, healthcare cashback plan, 4x Life Assurance, and hybrid working (2 days WFH).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the AP and AR inboxes and respond to all queries in a timely manner
  • Monitor creditor and debtor ledgers, ensuring accurate records
  • Promptly raise invoices, make outstanding payments, and send remittances
  • Monthly reconcile finance system and cashiering system
  • Review and improve AP and AR processes and controls
  • Manage customer accounts on the finance system
  • Evaluate and apply correct VAT rate to all invoices raised
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good IT and MS Excel skills
