Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our client's team in a Production Engineer role. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and overseeing manufacturing processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the NPI process and help oversee manufacturing processes
  • Carry out root cause analysis and maintain the 8D/RMA system
  • Ensure best practices and health and safety codes are followed
  • Identify problems in the production line, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and complete various administrative tasks

Key Requirements:

  • Lead and carry out 8D/RMA activities while maintaining the 8D/RMA process within Engineering
  • Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Monitor the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner
  • Diagnose problems in the production line, provide recommendations and training to eliminate any issues
  • Liaise with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor content
  • Establish safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and also minimize the carbon footprint
  • Keep abreast of advancements in engineering and production, then share knowledge with coworkers
  • Identify, document, and report unsafe practices
  • Check drawings, routes, and new BOM items for completeness and production readiness

  • Schedule meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
  • Analyze all facets of production and make recommendations for improvement
  • Identify and obtain any materials and equipment required for the above

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with CAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proven experience in the engineering field

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Open-minded to new ideas with an enquiring mind
  • A hands-on doer with the skills to assemble small and large complex assemblies

Required Qualifications:

Degree/HNC in engineering
