About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our client's main office in Medway. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the accounts team, including processing invoices, reconciliations, and other financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Timely posting of supplier and customer invoices
* Processing direct debit transactions, subcontractor invoices, travel and material expenses, and credit card entries
* Entering supplier and customer bank payments
* Preparing supplier invoices with attached POs for checks and signing off by directors
* Preparing and executing weekly supplier payments list and making payments
* Preparing wages for subcontractors against signing-in sheets and gate times
* Reconciling supplier, customer, and subcontractor accounts
* Sending emails for director payments approval containing all details for timely payments
* Dealing with supplier queries, chasing statements, and necessary information
* Dealing with subcontractor queries regarding invoices, preparing and sending CIS monthly statements
* Preparing CIS returns and filing them
* Verifying new subbies with HMRC
* Preparing and filing VAT returns
* Printing management accounts reports, project costing, and suppliers' activity
Requirements:
* Recent experience in a similar role as an accounts assistant or bookkeeper, preferably within the construction industry
* Recent experience using Sage Line 50
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Our client is a successful Main Contractor within the construction industry, dealing with multiple industries including commercial, residential, leisure, and retail. They are looking for an all-round Accounts Assistant with recent experience in Sage Line 50 to join their main office in Medway.
