We are seeking a skilled interpreter to join our team at Language Empire. This is a self-employed position, and as an interpreter, you will work with various clients in the NHS, local authorities, police, probation, and other public and private organizations.

With over 20 years of experience providing interpreting services across the UK, we offer flexible working arrangements to suit your schedule. You will have the opportunity to interpret in various settings, including face-to-face, telephone, and video conferencing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting for individuals using legal, health, and local government services
  • Ensuring accurate communication by checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence
  • Conferencing, consecutive, and public service interpreting
  • Handling highly confidential information
  • Liaising between service users and providers

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Fluency in English and another language
  • Able to work in the UK
  • Aged 21 or over
  • Formal qualifications such as DPSI, Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
