Your new company is a leading international bank in the heart of London, seeking a Relationship Manager to join the Financial Institutions department. This international bank has an established London presence for over 50 years.
Your new role involves working closely with other departments to maintain and expand relationships with financial institutions and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) in the UK market. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing credit applications and renewals for FI clients' limits and facilities for approval by the head office and local credit committee.
- Marketing to potential clients, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and promoting the bank's products and services.
- Developing and managing a loan asset portfolio in line with the bank's risk appetite.
- Initiating risk ratings, conducting thorough due diligence, preparing credit submissions according to the bank's standards, and presenting them to the credit committee.
- Creating pitch books and presentations as required.
- Preparing and sending onboarding packages to new and existing clients, ensuring compliance with the bank's policies and risk framework. Following up on KYC procedures, collaborating with the Client Onboarding team to complete client onboarding and reviews, and communicating with clients to gather necessary information.
- Minimising loan risks through diligent, timely reviews and proactive monitoring of economic and market influences, industry trends, and data. Managing loan risks effectively, addressing risk issues, and adjusting credit structures to minimise losses.
- Identifying, owning, and managing conduct risk and controls daily, implementing the bank's conduct risk framework processes. This includes identifying, assessing, and managing conduct risk, executing activities as intended, and addressing inadequate processes and control breaks.
Requirements include at least 5 years of UK experience, specifically managing and developing relationships with financial institutions (banks & NBFIs). A good understanding of a variety of commercial banking products is required. Excellent communication, verbal and written skills are necessary.
