About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Catering team as a Catering Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of patients, staff, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in designated work areas, adhering to documented cleaning schedules and ad hoc duties as requested by your duty supervisor.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene, kitchen, and personal cleanliness, adhering to Trust Policies and procedures.
  • Process utensils and crockery using a mechanical dishwasher, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Operate heavy-duty floor cleaning equipment, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Prepare and cook food items, such as hot sandwiches, hot snacks, and chips, in a food-safe manner.
  • Record food temperatures, fridge/freezer temperatures, and monitor fridges/chilled units to ensure food is within use-by dates.
  • Report faults, accidents, and adverse incidents, adhering to Trust Policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer care skills, courtesy, and politeness when serving food to customers.
  • Replenish and merchandise all food display units, maintaining accurate records.
