Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Investment Associate to join our B2B Software Investment Team at Octopus Capital Ltd. As an Investment Associate, you will play a key role in identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities, conducting financial analysis, and supporting the execution of growth capital investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deal Origination: Build and maintain a network of contacts in the adviser/VC/B2B software sector to identify new investment opportunities.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and due diligence on potential investments, including evaluating financial models and assessing commercial viability.
  • Investment Execution: Assist in the execution of growth capital investments, including preparing investment papers and presenting them to the Investment Committee.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the performance of existing portfolio companies and provide support to management teams as needed.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide support to the team on various initiatives.
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced investment professional with a strong background in finance and a passion for the B2B software sector. Ideally, you will have:

  • Investment Experience: Demonstrated experience in investing, either in a VC, growth capital, venture debt, or private equity role.
  • Transaction Experience: Experience in transactional roles, such as banking, corporate finance, or consulting.
  • Commercial Skills: Strong commercial skills, including financial analysis and modeling, and the ability to assess and analyze investment opportunities.
