Children's Occupational Therapist Opportunity

Cornwall Council is seeking a skilled Children's Occupational Therapist to join their team. As a specialist in occupational therapy, you will provide a high-quality service to children and young people with disabilities, complex health needs, or chronic illness.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess the needs of disabled children and young people, including those with long-term conditions, terminal illness, and behavioral problems, in the community.
  • Provide a specialist response in complex and highly complex cases, formulating and implementing intervention plans aimed at reducing the impact of disability and ill health.
  • Work in a multi-agency way with employees of Tameside MBC, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, and other agencies, providing professional advice on disability equipment, adaptations, and manual handling.
  • Have an awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people and an understanding of the importance of dignity and respect when dealing with people.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Children's Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Experience in training carers and families.
  • Manual handling experience.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (can be obtained).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification.
  • Car driver is essential.
