Electronics Design Engineer - Junior/Graduate Level Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Electronics Design Engineer to join our Research and Development team in Lancashire. As a junior/graduate engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation vehicle technology and tools, applying your academic knowledge in real-world applications.

This role is ideal for candidates with placement year experience or relevant projects in sectors like Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, or other high-quality, safety-critical industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be involved in the full product design lifecycle, from initial concept to production.
  • Work on circuit design, including schematics and PCB layout using CadStar or eCadStar tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical design, software development, and production.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards like EMC and low voltage safety.
  • Perform hands-on testing, verification, and fault finding, down to component level.
  • Assist in designing functional test rigs for in-house use.
  • Support the purchasing team with component selection and market analysis.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Some placement year or internship experience in a sector with high-quality standards like Automotive, Aerospace, or Defence.
  • Experience with hardware design, including microcontroller, analogue, and digital circuits.
  • Familiarity with circuit simulation, assembly, and fault-finding techniques.
  • PCB layout skills are a plus but not required.
  • Evidence of applying your academic knowledge in projects or work experience, particularly in circuit design, testing, and simulation.
  • Experience with CadStar or eCadStar CAD tools is beneficial.
