Our client, a leading high voltage electrical engineering business, is seeking a skilled Commissioning and Field Engineer to join their team in Norwich.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday based in the Norwich office, with opportunities for overtime and weekend work.

Travel is required across the country, with accommodation and food allowance provided.

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation, testing, and maintenance of high voltage systems, including generators, transformers, switch gear, and other power transmission and distribution equipment.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • 3+ years of experience in commissioning high voltage systems, preferably in power transmission and distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and high voltage equipment.
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting equipment, including generators, transformers, and switch gear.
  • Proficient in using specialized commissioning tools and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize responsibilities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with design engineers to develop commissioning plans for new high voltage systems.
  • Performing on-site inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of high voltage equipment.
  • Conducting pre-commissioning checks, ensuring all necessary safety measures are in place.
  • Managing the commissioning process, adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Overseeing installation and integration of high voltage systems, coordinating with subcontractors and project teams.
  • Conducting thorough functional and performance testing of equipment.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues during commissioning, collaborating with the design and installation teams when necessary.
  • Preparing detailed commissioning reports, including documentation of test results and system performance.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to clients during the commissioning process.
