A well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Manchester is seeking an ambitious Senior Accountant to assist with the preparation of accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.

As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with senior accountants and managers, providing high-quality service to clients while continuing your professional development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in preparing accounts and VAT returns, working knowledge of UK GAAP and tax regulations, and proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel.

AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with at least 1-2 years of experience in an accountancy practice is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping for clients
  • Assisting with the preparation of corporate tax computations
  • Assisting with the audit process as required, including audit testing and documentation
  • Supporting senior accountants with ad-hoc assignments and client work
