About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Rebuild Repair Engineer to join our team at Finning International Inc. As a Rebuild Repair Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out reconditioning and maintenance on Caterpillar products, ensuring they meet Finning standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake detailed inspections of machines to confirm or expand on initial field inspection reports.
  • Carry out standard diagnosis tests on machine components to enable accurate cost evaluations or condition and warranty agreements with customers.
  • Produce comprehensive lists of parts and materials required for proposed machine preparation work.
  • Undertake overhaul, repair, or refurbishment work on machines, removing and dispatching components for specialist attention.
  • Inspect and test completed machines to ensure they operate to expected performance levels.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical, hydraulic, and engine troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, work accuracy, and quality orientation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated and dynamic individual with a track record of strong analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in plant machinery or similar industries.
  • Either apprentice-trained or minimum 5 years' experience in a quality service environment within a similar industry.
  • Licence to drive reach trucks.
  • Practical experience in operating construction equipment in confined spaces and mechanical fitting work on large-scale machines.
