Job Title: Public Sector Construction Law Specialist

We are currently recruiting a talented Contracts & Procurement Lawyer with a specialism in Construction to join our client, a well-respected London Council. The assignment will begin on a 3 month contract, but will be extended on a rolling basis. As a successful candidate, you will work full-time hours and attend the offices in London one or two days per week.

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of public procurement and experience working within the Public Sector, ideally within a Local Authority. This role would be suited to a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with hands-on experience advising on construction, providing legal advice and assistance on Contracts, Procurement, Corporate and Commercial Law, Data Protection and Competition Law.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Advising on construction with good IT skills and experience of using JCT construction software
  • Providing legal advice and assistance on Contracts, Procurement, Corporate and Commercial Law, Data Protection and Competition Law
  • Acting on behalf of the Council in respect of the procurement of various contracts including contracts for Works and Services, Concession Contracts, Waste Contracts, Building and Construction Contracts and Back to Back Agreements
  • Advising on the interpretation of Contracts and other legal documentation and responsible for carrying out complex drafting and the execution and completion of contracts
