About the Role

We are seeking an experienced English Language Lecturer to join our team at Morgan Jones Limited. As a Lecturer in English, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding education and training to our students.

Your primary responsibility will be to equip our students with the skills they need to succeed in their future careers. This will involve delivering excellent teaching, completing relevant preparation and marking, and setting SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential.

You will work closely with our Curriculum Team Leader to ensure the academic and pastoral care of a group or groups of students. This will include arranging support requirements, tracking student progress, and setting targets using an electronic individual learning programme (eILP).

In addition to teaching, you will be responsible for providing pre and on-course guidance to students, including learner interviews and enrolment. You will also be involved in marketing and public relations activities associated with the course, including liaison with parents, guardians, schools, industry, and other organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess a range of courses and learning programmes, appropriate to your skills and qualifications.
  • Undertake the necessary administrative tasks associated with your role, including learner registration, attendance, record keeping, tracking, and reporting.
  • Meet the normal demands of an Academic Calendar, including the production of Schemes of Work, planning for lessons, and meeting Quality and awarding body requirements.
  • Prepare students for higher levels of study and develop specific vocational work and employability skills through the curriculum.
  • Work with the Personal Development Coordinators and course team to facilitate learner enrichment activities and promote work experience opportunities.
  • Have overall responsibility for the academic and pastoral care of a group or groups of students.
  • Keep up-to-date records and have responsibility for all relevant student information, both pastoral and academic.
  • Set targets using an electronic individual learning programme (eILP) for each student.
  • Implement College Quality Assurance processes and procedures for learning programmes.
