Job Overview

MPI Limited is seeking a skilled Cable Bay Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production, testing, and repair of various cables, wiring harnesses, and looms essential for avionics, maritime, and ground systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and repair cables in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of work performed.
  • Collaborate with production teams to achieve operational targets.
  • Continuously seek improvements in processes and workflows.
  • Conduct inspections of completed projects to verify adherence to design and customer requirements.
Essential Qualifications
  • Proficient in interpreting complex electrical and mechanical diagrams.
  • Experienced in using electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
  • Skilled in hand techniques such as crimping, soldering, and wire stripping.
  • Thorough understanding of cable manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • PTT qualified and certified.
  • Ability to work safely with live equipment.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in repairing and modifying various components.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical hand skills.
  • Understanding of circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
Intellectual and Communication Demands

The role requires problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work autonomously or under minimal supervision. Daily communication with team members and support areas is essential.

Physical Requirements

Ability to handle heavy materials and perform tasks requiring fine manual dexterity. Awareness of safety protocols when using chemicals and tools is mandatory.

Work Environment

The position involves working in a moderately noisy environment with the necessity of protective equipment.
