Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mathematics Teacher to work in a secondary school in Pontypridd. The school supports learners in Key Stage 3 and 4 and has tasked Vetro with finding a qualified Maths teacher who can make a seamless transition into the team.

Job Summary

This full-time role involves teaching Year 7, 8, and 9, as well as GCSE classes for 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of Maths teaching experience and hold Qualified Teacher Status or its overseas equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a classroom of learners in Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons and develop schemes of work where required
  • Deliver lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Engage learners through both classroom and lab-based activities

The successful candidate will be expected to work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies and possess excellent communication skills. We are an equal opportunities employer and decisions are made on merit alone.

Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of Maths teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs)
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
  • Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can assist with this process
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
