Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating complex commercial contracts and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. They will also lead contract and subcontract negotiations, implement effective contract management during project lifecycles, and support the development of commercial strategies.

  • This includes managing commercial aspects of bids, drafting terms and conditions, and clearing them through the bid review process.
  • The role requires creative thinking and the ability to influence people and develop others.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex major contract negotiations and amendments with customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Implementing appropriate commercial arrangements for the delivery of projects and programmes.
  • Leading contract and subcontract negotiations and implementing effective contract management.
  • Managing commercial aspects of bids and developing commercial strategies.
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risk throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline including business, economics, and law.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the aerospace and/or defence sector or other relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the defence industry and government defence contracting terms.
  • Experience of export contracting and understanding of other business functions.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £80,000-£100,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a range of benefits including flexible working hours, 25 days holiday, life assurance, and pension scheme contributions.
