Business Analyst/Project Manager - Risk Technology

Millennium Management is a leading global hedge fund that leverages innovation in technology and data science to solve complex business problems. We are building a strong Risk Technology team to develop our next-generation Risk Platform. As a Business Analyst/Project Manager (BAPM) supporting the Risk Tech team, you will be responsible for requirements documentation, project delivery management, and collaboration with all teams involved in the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with Portfolio and Risk Managers to understand their requirements, synthesize them into logical development tasks, and translate them into specifications for developers to implement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with stakeholders across the organization at multiple levels of seniority
  • Develop and document business requirements across risk reporting, including the distillation of many reports into common components
  • Create a Business Requirements Document (BRD) featuring tech deliverables based on common components mapped to user requirements, and prioritize them in coordination with risk analysts and developers
  • Enforce project governance and ensure consistent communication with stakeholders
  • Assist development teams by resolving implementation questions through consultation with risk analysts
  • Define and template appropriate test strategies and test cases required to detect issues with changes
  • Assist with the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and testing of changes
  • Communicate and coordinate production releases

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Substantial relevant experience in business analysis or product development, interfacing with business users and technologists
  • Previous experience facing off to Market Risk stakeholders and an understanding of risk concepts is preferable
  • Ability to perform in-depth analysis of risk reports and synthesize common data components, leveraging relevant experience in finance
  • Knowledge of SQL and database tools. Additional data analysis skills are an advantage, including the ability to step through code
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Visio or other Flow Charting system to create detailed workflows
  • Experience coordinating projects through the development lifecycle
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an independent/self-starter work ethic
