Job Title: Electronics Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Test Engineer to join our team at TT Electronics. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will be responsible for delivering test solutions to specification, introducing new products into production, and ensuring customer and company specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement test strategies and solutions to meet customer and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products into production.
  • Generate and coordinate test instructions for test stages, ensuring compliance with customer and company specifications.
  • Train test technicians in the use of equipment and validate their competence.
  • Implement customer engineering change notes (ECNs) throughout all stages.
  • Monitor yields and improve processes using continuous improvement tools.
  • Monitor and improve product efficiencies and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide support to production to help solve diagnostic problems.
  • Generate preventative maintenance plans for test equipment, including calibration.
  • Assist in planned preventative maintenance on various production processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct and health and safety requirements.
  • Liaise with customer design teams to promote viable and maximized test specifications.
  • Participate in design for test (DfX) activities to support existing and new business opportunities.
  • Implement new test solutions that meet both customer and company requirements by project managing external suppliers.
  • Monitor and ensure that sub-contractors deliver test solutions as per the agreed delivery date.
  • Quotations for test solutions for new and existing business opportunities, across functional, ICT, and flying probe test strategies.
  • Carry out reliability testing in line with company procedures.
  • Support Product Engineering team in yield analysis and improvement activities.
  • Advise on new developments in test and test strategies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar or related test discipline.
  • Evidence and examples of core aspects 'experience' in a manufacturing environment.
Core Requirements:
  • Security clearance will be required for this role.
  • Software development knowledge (Labview, C++, Visual Basic, etc.).
  • Understanding of analogue, digital, and RF test techniques.
  • Prior use of boundary scan test hardware and software (JTAG).
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Past experience in a CEM manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum degree in electronics discipline or electronics test engineering experience.
  • IT skills including Office, CAD viewers, etc.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Customer focus – acts with the 'eyes of the customer' throughout and builds productive working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Attention to detail – thorough approach to issues, but with appropriate urgency.
  • Team player – inspires others by their actions.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Training to be given on flying probe and debug, if there is no experience.
  • Independent and resourceful – ability to think outside of the box.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues at all levels – liaising with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
