Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis, a leading player in the energy sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for the most challenging problems in the energy industry.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in carrying out mechanical engineering substantiation for new designs or existing plant. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to engage effectively with clients and internal teams to capture requirements and deliver right-first-time solutions.

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including flexible working arrangements and opportunities for career development. The role requires security clearance, which we will discuss with you at interview.

This is a full-time position, working as part of small to medium sized teams. You will work within a collaborative and supportive office/site environment for a minimum of half of your working week, driving innovative thinking and delivering tasks for multiple workstreams to time, quality, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

- Work within small to medium sized teams, contributing to the delivery of engineering solutions to the industry's most challenging problems
- Engage effectively with clients and internal teams to capture requirements, set up projects, and deliver right-first-time solutions
- Deliver accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports (e.g., design substantiations, basis of analysis, safety case references)
- Develop commercial awareness to effectively deliver tasks for multiple workstreams and to deliver to time, quality, and cost
- Collaborate with colleagues to drive innovative thinking and problem-solving

Requirements

- Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification)
- Experience in carrying out mechanical engineering substantiation for new designs or existing plant
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
