Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Wilson James. As a key member of our Logistics Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees and contractors on site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies and systems to ensure compliance with industry best practice and current legislation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor working practices and identify potential hazards.
  • Provide advice and support to employees and contractors on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the HSE leadership team to drive the wellbeing agenda and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Manage and monitor the working practices of employees and contractors regarding health, safety, wellbeing, environmental, and welfare.

Requirements:
  • Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, specific to the construction industry logistics activities.
  • NEBOSH qualification, preferably General Certificate or Construction Certificate.
  • IOSH Qualification, ideally Member or equivalent.
  • CITB H&S test pass certificate for Managers & Professionals.
  • CSCS Card (Professional Card - White).
  • Experience in compiling and reviewing RAMS specific to task.
  • Strong construction or engineering background.
  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge of safety in plant and vehicle operations.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplined safety-critical environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, able to communicate at all levels.
  • IT literate, with strong electronic communication, spreadsheet, and presentation skills.
Site-Specific Information:
  • You must be able to provide a 3-year work/unemployment/education history required for vetting process in line with Hinkley Point C protocols.
  • You must be able to obtain the Hinkley Point C pass.
  • The site is located remotely, and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
