Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements.
  • Supervise the preparation of essential documentation to ensure bids are transparent and accurate.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather all relevant information for bid preparation.
  • Utilize historical data and perform risk analysis to optimize bid strategies.
  • Verify cost data from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure it aligns with project requirements.
  • Keep an extensive database of current and historical project costs to inform future estimates.
  • Offer guidance and training to junior estimators and support staff.
  • Engage in bid review meetings with clients and senior management.
  • Liaise directly with clients regarding tenders.
  • Log all tenders received into the Tender Database.
  • Attend site tender meetings.
  • Chair tender review meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver tender presentations.
  • Develop tender programs.
Requirements:
  • Clean driving license.
  • Multi-utilities experience, with a good understanding of Gas, Water, Electric, and Comms.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
