Support Worker for Individual with Autism and ADHD

We are looking for a dedicated and caring support worker to assist a young boy with autism and ADHD in the S11 area of Sheffield. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the individual with personal care, cooking, household chores, and accessing community activities.

The individual we support has autism and ADHD, and requires support with daily tasks, socialisation, and accessing community activities. The ideal candidate will be patient, supportive, and caring, with a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, adapting to the individual's needs on a daily basis. Previous experience is not essential, but a willingness to learn and develop skills is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the individual with personal care, including toileting, showering, and getting dressed
  • Assist with cooking and meal preparation
  • Support the individual with household chores and general homemaking
  • Accompany the individual to school, work, college, and social activities
  • Encourage socialisation and participation in activities
  • Promote independence and develop a good working relationship

  • Be able to work on own initiative and follow instructions accurately
  • Be patient, supportive, and caring
  • Have good listening skills and be able to provide emotional support
