About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychology Lead to join our Maternity Trauma and Loss Care Service at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the Maternity Trauma and Loss Care Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychological interventions and services.
  • Lead the development and implementation of trauma-informed care pathways and protocols within the service.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to psychological therapists and other staff members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local maternity services, perinatal mental health services, and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate service performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Lead on research, audit, and clinical governance tasks for the service.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Postgraduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
  • Post-doctoral qualification or training in an evidence-based treatment for trauma, such as CBT for PTSD or EMDR.
  • Experience of working with grief, trauma, and phobias.
  • Experience of facilitating/co-facilitating psychological therapy groups.
  • Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision.
  • Experience of working as a qualified (specialist) Psychologist for a minimum of three years, including at least one year's post-qualification experience as a qualified Psychologist within a Clinical Psychology setting.
  • Experience of clinical supervision of trainee Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, and/or qualified Psychologists.
  • Experience of working with women in the perinatal period as a qualified clinician.
