We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Day Support Operator to join our team at Innospec Inc. in the Performance Chemicals business at Ellesmere Port.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods within the production processes, while maintaining a safe and high-quality environment.
- Receive, store, prepare, and deliver materials according to production and material schedules.
- Support the plant teams with materials management, including waste management.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems related to raw material availability, preparation, or delivery.
- Communicate effectively with Plant Manager and/or supervisor, planning department, and other relevant personnel to address issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Assist PC1 shift teams in movement of chemicals in/out of production areas, including waste movement.
- Rotate hotbox contents to meet production demands.
- Monitor the Bulk Tracker for product despatches and ensure tanks are heated in good time.
- Perform tank-to-tank transfers, including inspection of receiving tanks and ensuring presented documentation is accurate and attachment of security tags.
- Take ISO tank raw materials, hotbox, and PC1 samples to QC for analysis.
- Troubleshoot off-load/loading issues.
- Routine top-up of chemicals for the demineralised water purification system.
- Routine cleaning duties of L-Asp house and general waste bin empty.
- Support the Plant Manager with task prioritisation.
- Shunt ISOs to and from the plant.
- Organise ISOs on Tel 3 heating station, communicating with SMV driver to ensure ISOs are in place in good time.
- Organise with Site Environmental Officer, IBC waste collections.
- Update waste management files.
- Communicate with Logistics administration and supply chain daily.
- Prep and load waste IBCs for disposal.
- End of month stock counts.
- NVQ Level 2 in Process Plant Operations.
- Relevant experience within high-risk chemical manufacturers and ISO tank movements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of production processes, inventory management principles, and quality control principles.
- Ability to operate basic material handling equipment safely.
- Fork Lift Truck License holder.
