About the Role

Shropdoc is seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality out of hours care to patients in Shropshire and Powys. As a Clinical Practitioner, you will work autonomously and as part of a larger team to deliver safe, holistic, and effective care to patients who present with a range of illnesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work effectively within your professional boundaries to provide safe and effective care to patients.
  • Use critical thinking and advanced decision-making skills to assess, diagnose, and triage patients.
  • Work with patients to determine a suitable management plan for further assessment, self-care advice, or safety netting.
  • Prescribe medications as part of a robust treatment plan, using good antibiotic stewardship and sick day rules.
  • Liaise with other community-based healthcare practitioners to ensure seamless care for patients.

Requirements

  • Experience in primary or urgent/emergency healthcare settings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to take a comprehensive history and perform a structured physical assessment over the telephone.
  • Advanced decision-making skills and critical thinking.
