About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Integrity Structural Engineer to join our team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a structural engineer to become part of a team working on a variety of projects across various sectors including defence, blue light and life science throughout the UK.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be involved in technically diverse projects and will deliver innovative design solutions across a broad range of clients across multiple sectors. Forging a strong relationship with every client, you will support the project Director and lead teams of engineers and technicians to deliver the project, providing structural engineering design and technical reports and managing the delivery of the wider team.

Ideally, your portfolio will encompass a wider range of projects undertaking design in both steelwork and concrete.

You will ideally hold security clearance to a minimum of SC level but if not then be willing to apply for the necessary clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leading teams of engineers and technicians to deliver projects
  2. Liaising with wider Tetra Tech disciplines to coordinate design and manage specialist input/surveys
  3. Undertaking financial management of projects
  4. Undertaking design of structural engineering elements using a variety of materials
  5. Undertaking condition surveys and preparing technical reports
  6. Providing technical assistance to the members of the structural engineering team
  7. Assisting other members of the structural engineering team to ensure project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
  8. Expected to exercise a degree of autonomy in decision making related to the accomplishment of the team's objectives
  9. Ensuring compliance with all legislation, regulations and site procedures or instructions
  10. Assisting in the contract administration of projects and ensuring that time and budgetary requirements are met
  11. Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants, as required
  12. Educated to degree level in civil or structural engineering
  13. Chartered or near Chartered status with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
  14. Experience working in a structural engineering consultancy environment
  15. Experience in the use of structural engineering design software (Tekla Structural Designer essential)
  16. Experience in the use of REVIT to interrogate models and preferably also AutoCAD
  17. Knowledge of both British Standards and Eurocodes and their implementation
  18. Experience and ability of working within project teams
  19. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants, at all levels
  20. Full UK driving licence

Tetra Tech offers a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including 25 days annual leave, flexible working hours and a contributory pension scheme.
