About the Role

The English Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering and marking engaging and effective English lessons across a range of key stages. The ideal candidate will create a stimulating learning environment that fosters a love for the English language and literature, and will play a key role in supporting students to develop their literacy skills, critical thinking and analytical abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and mark engaging and effective English lessons

  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, ensuring it aligns with national standards and school objectives

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the English department and across the wider school community

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with a passion for the English language and literature, and a minimum of two years' successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting. They will have excellent subject knowledge, strong planning, teaching and assessment skills, and the ability to differentiate lessons to cater for the needs of all learners. They will also have excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
