Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of Halo Search as a Class 2 Registered Building Inspector. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of building control projects, ensuring compliance with building regulations and associated standards.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO9001) and all legislative requirements.
  • Follow best practices in risk management and support compliance with PI/PL insurance and Building Safety Regulator requirements.
  • Undertake restricted activities according to the Registered Building Inspector Code of Conduct to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support and mentor less experienced staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Assist in introducing and delivering new products and services.
  • Conduct assessments of applications for building control.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and seminars as required.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects in a designated area.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients and team members.
  • Optimize time management for inspections and plan-checking requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
  • Build and manage relationships with customers to foster business development.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A keen eye for detail with a process-oriented approach.
  • Ability to make pragmatic decisions for safe, compliant buildings.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered or working towards full corporate membership of a professional body (e.g., Chartered Institute of Building Engineers or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
  • Hold or be working towards Technical Class 2 Registered Building Inspector (RBI) status.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act (2022).
  • Expertise in fire safety, health and safety, and the construction design process.

Estimated Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum
